It can be worn as a gown or as a full-skirted cocktail dress by removing the skirt. Made of heavy ivory silk and decorated with large fuchsia flowers which are hand appliqued. MADY'S Albany Schenectady - #A121
circa 1950's

This is one of those pieces that simply transforms on the figure. I slipped into this and WOW, I couldn't believe the marvelous little jacket that had been hiding on that hanger. This is so elegant and simple but makes a stunning statement. It begs for a pair of gloves and some wide leg slacks. It is a pale pale beige wool silk, fully lined in crepe. A large stitched button at the neck, pointed collar, and upturned cuffs detail this coat. The back falls in a dramatic trapeze. This was purchased from the estate of a serious collector who really took care of her garments. All of her items were high quality and absolutely pristine. Fit, style and elegance! FLORAL PATTERNED FULL SKIRT - #A129
circa 1950's

I just fell in love when I saw this stunning floral silk. I looked so incredibly current to me like it just stepped of the runways of Milan or Paris. How incredible would this be with a fitted cashmere sweater, a twin set, or a simple tank? Shades of cream, pale gray, cornflower blue, lemon yellow, crimson, and pale pink make up the pattern. It is a classic full style with pleats all around and a back zipper. Full skirts are the thing to wear this season and you can really interpret this in many ways. Click images to enlarge.
